Each workshop will begin at 12:30 at the designated location with a meet and greet and gradidude circle. We will conclude each session with a warm cup of tea while we discuss what we enjoyed, learned and struggled with. Come connect with with nature through community.

June 22 - Compasses and Maps (Survival)

This wilderness survival workshop is designed to teach basic compass skills in bush survival. With some knowledge plus a little confidence you can survive almost anywhere!

This three-hour, hands-on workshop includes the basics of: 

  • Parts of a compass

  • How to find your bearings

  • How to use a compass with a map

Throughout the class you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you learn.

July 27 - Dragonflies and Waterways (Environmental Education)

This nature workshop is designed to teach some basic skills in dragonfly identification and the importance of wetlands.

This three-hour, hands-on workshop includes the basics of: 

  • Understanding the importance of wetlands

  • Identifying 5 different mini water dwellers

  • Learning the life history and edification of dragonflies

Throughout the class you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you learn.

August 17 - Clay (Art)

This art workshop aims to provide a foundational understanding of clay work infused with elements from nature. By gaining some knowledge and building confidence, you can embark on a journey to recognize and appreciate various local plants while enhancing your creativity.

This three-hour, hands-on workshop includes the basics of: 

  • How to identify different plants in Ontario

  • Learn about incorporating textures and designs into clay

  • The versatility of nature in art

Throughout the class you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you learn.
