Participate in our spring nature workshops to boost your understanding and appreciation of the environment through gaining new survival techniques, environmental insights, and artistic exploration. Building confidence in nature will deepen your connection to it, nurturing a meaningful emotional attachment.

Each workshop will begin at 12:30 at the designated location with a meet and greet and gradidude circle. We will conclude each session with a warm cup of tea while we discuss what we enjoyed, learned and struggled with. Come connect with with nature through community.

April 27 - Birds Workshop (Environmental Education)

Birds are making their way back to Ontario for the summer or maybe they are just passing through.  This workshop is a great introduction to birding or an opportunity to hone your bird id skills.  We will have binoculars available to borrow.

This three-hour, hands-on workshop includes the basics of: 

  • Learn the five "S"'s of Birdwatching (Birding)

  • Some bird mnemonics for remembering songs

  • Resident and Migratory bird identification

Throughout the class you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you learn.

May 25 - Wildflower Art Workshop (Art)

This art workshop is designed to teach some basic understanding of wildflowers while using them to create a personalized piece of art. With some knowledge plus a little confidence you can begin your journey to identify and understanding wildflowers in our area while boosting your creativity!


This three-hour, hands-on workshop includes the basics of: 

  • Learn how to identify native spring wildflowers

  • Colours, texture and art concepts

  • How art can be created anywhere

Throughout the class you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you learn.

When:   12:30 to 3:30

Need to know

  • No previous experience required

  • Wear weather appropriate clothes as we will be outdoors the whole time

  • Bring your own water bottle and snacks, a warm cup of tea will be offered for during out closing

  • Please arrive a couple of minutes early for us to be able to start at 12:30

  • A waiver will need to be signed when you arrive
