About Janneke

Janneke is a guide, witness, and co-learner, walking beside others as they reconnect to the land, themselves, and each other.

Her connection to the outdoors began early, growing up in a small rural community where her youth was shaped by time spent on the land and the steady presence of community care. These early experiences planted the seeds that would one day grow into her work; rooted in relationship, belonging, and learning alongside others.

Seeds Rooted has grown from many threads: years of working with youth, nature, grief, community, and the quiet teachings of the land itself. Janneke’s work holds space for learning and healing — whether sitting with young people in the forest, cooking seasonal meals in community, or accompanying families through life’s tender thresholds. It is always grounded in presence, reciprocity, and care.

Throughout adulthood, Janneke lived, worked, and traveled across many parts of the world. These experiences continue to shape a deep understanding of culture, connection, and the many ways people hold life, death, and community. They inform the spaces Janneke creates, and the way she walks beside others.

Janneke holds formal training as a teacher, death doula, outdoor educator, and nature-based facilitator, but the land itself, and those willing to sit within its quiet lessons, remain her greatest teachers.

This work continues to evolve, but always returns to the same place: belonging.
